Did you know that housing is the engine that drives North Carolina’s economy? That’s true for our nation as well. Our state’s full economic recovery from the recession depends on a full recovery for the housing industry. That’s why the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) holds an annual Legislative Day during our Second Quarter Board Meeting. The meetings took place May 24-25 this year.
As Vice President of Region 9, I spent time with our elected officials in the NC Legislative Building in Raleigh discussing issues important to housing. It was an honor and privilege to represent our region to some of the key decision makers within North Carolina. We were delighted by a visit from the Governor. He addressed our group informally and acknowledged how important housing is to NC recovery.
I also gave the Regional VP report at the NCHBA Board Meeting and for the second year in a row received the coveted trophy for the President’s Cup Challenge from the NCHBA Builder Classic Golf Tournament! Read more about the tournament here.
