After being postponed due to poor weather, the North Carolina Home Builders Educational and Charitable Foundation Builder Classic Golf Tournament was held on a beautiful spring day in April. I had a great time participating, along with my teammates Brian Curry, Barry Waters and Logan Waters.
Our team got 3rd overall and also had the lowest score among teams with a current or past local, state or national , so I was honored to take home the President’s Cup Trophy this year! Congratulations also go to teammate Brian Curry who won the Longest Drive contest!
Each year this tournament helps raise funds towards college scholarships for NCHBA members and family members who are majoring in a construction-related field. We even got to put on pink hardhats when we played the hole sponsored by North Carolina Professional Women in Building. This was a special hole designated for the NCPWB Scholarship, administered by the NC Home Builders Educational & Charitable Foundation. One $500 scholarship will be presented each year to a female applicant pursuing a career in the housing industry.
