Getting the Greatest Return on Your Kitchen Remodeling Project

Getting the Greatest Return on Your Kitchen Remodeling Project

Getting the Greatest Return on Your Kitchen Remodeling ProjectKitchen remodeling projects can be quite expensive. But you deserve to get a kitchen that you love and will give you a great return on your investment. Most kitchen remodel projects are done not because the kitchen is worn out or no longer functional; it’s because it looks outdated. Even if you aren’t planning on moving in the near future, it is still something to consider when you begin your kitchen remodeling project.

Here are a few trends you may want to avoid to ensure that your kitchen remodeling project withstands the test of time . . . at least for a decade or two.

  • Farmhouse Sinks- While it was the rage in 2011 and 2012, farmhouse or apron-front kitchen sinks have largely disappeared from remodels this year. Instead, consider a stainless steel sink. It has a timeless look and can easily handle the thousands of dirty dishes that will pass through it over the coming years.
  • Colorful Appliances- A pop of color can be fun, but don’t let your appliances be your pop of color. Stainless steel continues to be the best “neutral” for kitchens. It pairs well with modern and traditional décor. Consider painting your walls or displaying colorful containers for a pop of color.
  • Trash Compactors- It may be tempting to “shrink” your trash, but in general, trash compactors make a kitchen appear dated. There are also consequences to piling up your trash—it stinks.

Get the best return on your kitchen remodeling project by selecting timeless design elements and appliances.
