The 2016 Design & Construction Week in Las Vegas, which includes the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders Show (IBS), was even more spectacular, if possible, than last year. It attracted more than 110,000 building professionals—remodelers, builders, architects, and designers—who attended various association board meetings, educational seminars and spent time at the exhibits to experience the latest developments in design and technology for the home.
We were so excited to attend IBS and KBIS again this year. We feel the seminars and networking are vital for staying
on top of the industry. We also walked the show floor, taking note of innovative new products and gathering fresh ideas that we can introduce to Vision Design Build Remodel clients in the near future.
The Masterbrand Cabinet booth featured beautiful displays with creative and inspiring use of cabinetry. In another booth we discovered an automatic vacuum cleaner that attaches under cabinets—you simply sweep the dirt into the opening and it’s gone. It was great to see AZEK’s display of new colors and materials for decks and patios. And then there was the Show Village, built on the lot just outside the Las Vegas Convention Center and featuring scores of innovative products at work in several actual homes.
After all the excitement of the show, we relaxed by taking a personal trip to see the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Those sites are just amazing, and it was well worth the drive.
